Born in Boston, raised in New York City and Philadelphia, John Goldsmith  studied architecture at Columbia and Harvard, and trained at Frank Gehry & Associates before focusing his work on motion picture design. Most recently, he designed THE STATEMENT for Tom McCarthy and BEING HUEMANN for Siân Heder. Previous  projects include SHE RIDES SHOTGUN, THE BOSTON STRANGLER, CAUSEWAY (with Jack Fisk), PERRY MASON, THE OA II, CHAPPAQUIDDICK, A MOST VIOLENT YEAR, and ALL IS LOST. He has worked with a range of filmmakers including the Coen Brothers, Michael Mann, and Tom Hooper, art directing such projects as NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN, LUCK, and JOHN ADAMS. Between projects, he maintains an art practice in New Orleans, where he lives with his architect wife and their three sons, his greatest projects.
